Flight Recorder (Black box)

The black box from the Voepass ATR 72 aircraft that crashed on Friday, August 9th, in Vinhedo, São Paulo, has been located by CENIPA (Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents in Brazil), which has begun investigating the accident.

The plane operating flight PTB 2283 from Cascavel, Paraná, to Guarulhos, São Paulo, entered a flat spin while descending towards São Paulo International Airport. None of the 62 people on board survived.

The Brazilian Air Force has just released images of the black boxes from Voepass flight 2283, opened in Brasília for analysis by CENIPA experts.

The investigators have initiated the preliminary work of preparation, data extraction, and transcription and are expected to continue uninterrupted for the next few hours.

The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) announced on Friday afternoon (9th) that the aircraft operated by Voepass, which was involved in an accident in Vinhedo (SP), an ATR 72-500 with registration PS-VPB, was manufactured in 2010 and was in regular condition to operate, with valid registration and airworthiness certificates.

CENIPA, TSB & BEA

At the site of the Voepass accident in Vinhedo, CENIPA is already removing the ATR 72 engines with the support of Canadian experts from the TSB and French experts from BEA.
